Chant - The Tunnel

This is part of a larger piece and is based on the idea of a person trapped in a cave rock fall, deliberately caused by someone else for reasons not told here. The three parts (0:00 to 3:29, 3:29 to 5:35, 5:35 to end) describe the experience - resignation in part 1, the stirring of resistance in part 2 and resurgence in part 3. In the absence of the rest of the story, you'll just have to fill in the blanks yourself.

Tunnel collapse seems to be a recurring theme in the life of Mechromantix; we have performed live a song called The Tunnel where the theme was identical, perhaps not surprisingly.  It's all related to a concept called The Wicker Man (not to be confused with the film of the same name), a very progressive story of murder and revenge based in and around Ironbridge during the time of the Industrial Revolution.

More of this on other pages will follow.
